Like you, we love the Bible and treasure the lifelong pursuit of growing in wisdom and knowledge.

We are women who have fallen in love with learning as worship.

Kindred is open to anyone who has a hunger for the Word. Because Jesus has changed our lives and we love teaching others about the Bible – how to read it, how to live it, how to teach it.

We invite you to join us on this journey in person or through the podcast.

More About Kindred

  • We are women from various churches and backgrounds.

We are young and old and in between.

We are not perfect, but serve the Perfect One.

We love Jesus and his infallible Word.

We don’t have to agree on everything because we agree on the One Thing.

We share a common pursuit growing in wisdom + knowledge.

We desire soul transformation, not simply information.

We strive for excellence + revere the Truth.

We worship God with our hearts, souls and minds.

We are defined and renewed by the love and teaching of Jesus.

We are family, sisters, by the grace of God.

    We are Kindred.

  • WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD WITH THREE EXPRESSIONS

We believe in a triune God that is sovereign over all and yet personally invested in all he has created. He is ruler and sustainer of the universe, possessing the authority of heaven and earth in a loving and completely just manner.

    Gen. 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Ephesians 4:6; Isaiah 40:21-28; Isaiah 46:8-11;

    FATHER GOD

We believe in God the Father who is perfect in holiness, wisdom, justice, power and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity, hears and answers prayers, and saves from death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

    John 16:23-27 | Galatians 4:4-6 | Ephesians 1:3, 17-23

    JESUS CHRIST THE SON

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, born in flesh by a virgin and lived a completely sinless life on earth. He died on the cross and rose three days later, thus securing forgiveness for the sins of the world and providing the only path to eternal life in heaven with God the Father.

    Luke 1:30-35; Acts 2:22-24; John 3:16-17

    HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is a permanent presence of the Spirit of God in the heart of a believer. The Spirit guides, transforms, empowers and activates believers in our everyday lives.

    John 16:7-8; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 4:30;

    SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST ALONE

We believe Heaven is accessible to any and all who call on the name of Jesus. Christ’s sacrifice of his life on the cross reconciled every believer to God and rooted our identity in Christ for today and forever.

    Ephesians 1:7 ; John 1:12-13; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8-10

    THE BIBLE IS GOD’S WORD

We believe the Bible is the living, breathing Word of God, written that all might know Him more intimately. It is authoritative, accurate, relevant and trustworthy. 2 Pet. 1:20-21; 2 Tim. 3:16-17

    DISTINCT GIFTING

We believe that every person is created by God and for God with distinct gifts and abilities. These gifts serve as a springboard toward service to our families, our communities, our city, and the world beyond.

    Romans 12:3-8; Galatians 2:20

    LOCAL CHURCH

We believe that active participation in a local church body is an expression of worship to God and is evidence of a transformed life. All people were created for community and therefore, we will come alive, uniquely and fully, within God’s ordained fellowship with other believers.

    Matthew 28:18-20; John 15:8; Colossians 1:24-29

Leading the Way

  • Emily Vogeltanz is a wife to Bryson and mom of 4 kids. Her family serves and attends Passion City Church where Emily helped launch and lead The Grove women’s ministry. Emily has studied at Dallas Theological Seminary and completed the Bible Study Training for Pastors and Leaders program. She currently works with IllumiNations, leads trips to the Holy Land and enjoys every opportunity she has to teach and write.

  • Lanie Beth currently lives in ATL with her 6’8 husband, Brad and their two girls. A creative at heart, she spent years working as a fashion stylist with Fortune 500 companies and styling artists for award shows, music videos and album covers. While seemingly professionally incongruent, God has woven two paths together for unconventional opportunities to share Jesus in secular environments as well as churches. She has taught at churches of all sizes across the country helping women understand that Jesus really does change everything. She is currently pursuing her Masters at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Lanie Beth Sinclair and Emily Vogeltanz met in 2021 and a kindred friendship was formed around their love for the Word. As self proclaimed Bible nerds, they began to dream about what it would look like to create a weekly Bible study for the community anchored simply in teaching the Word. Thus, Kindred was born. Emily and LB lead the way with a growing team, but the heart of Kindred is not to build a platform for themselves, but the desire to raise up, shepherd, and champion more women in the community to step into their unique calling to lead and teach.
